The summer 2016 refresh indicates 8 changes – 5 new bans and 3 lifted, which means a total of 77 schools are known to ban girls from wearing skirts (and let’s face it, there’s bound to be a handful more not on the list).

In regional trends, there are signs that Grimsby may be joining Ipswich and Bradford as a hotspot. The prize for most bizarre school has to go to Brunts in Mansfield, Notts, which banned skirts in 2008, allowed them again in 2013 and has now banned them for a second time. Well done. You’re a poster child for political correctness.
